MotoGP: RADIO COMMUNICATIONS are coming!

We are talking about a topic that is destined to radically change racing.
A topic much more important than many others that despite this, goes unnoticed. A topic that will change the approach to racing for riders, team and the organization!
But above all that will make us see the races differently.
We are talking about radio communications, which impact much more on the show than any aerodynamic solution or any regulatory element regarding cuts, lines, sanctions, etc.
Because radio communications are something that everyone can see, hear and at least partly understand, whether they are competent enthusiasts or simple spectators.
But who said that the arrival of this type of spectacular solution is imminent and above all that it is arriving at the expense of another spectacular solution examined but then discarded? Carmelo Ezpeleta said it. Is that enough for you? Carmelo Ezpeleta in the interview on Misterhelmet a few months ago (you can find it below), explained how, among all the elements derived from automotive sports, the pit stop is not interesting for DORNA, while radio communications, on the other hand, are.
The information I have available speaks of the introduction in two steps.

2025-2026: riders will start receiving radio communications from the race direction. It is not yet clear whether they will be able to respond.
2026-27: riders could find themselves in a situation similar to that of Formula 1, initially with only receiving and then with the possibility of responding also to team messages.
Of course something could not work perfectly, something could make the riders nervous or angry or maybe spark some controversy for some case of malfunction. And the rest could be provided by the motorcycle component, which is more complicated than the car, for certain things.
But this is it, anyway.
And they have also been working on it for a long time, so the news is not only true but also imminent.
Some people underestimate this thing but it is certain that it will change, and by a lot, the sport of motorcycling as we know it, transforming the figure of the rider who, alone and isolated, fights against his peers into a social experiment to be exposed even in the moments of greatest risk and focus.
All this will make motorcycling go in a very specific direction: the one we did not want and did not need.
But this is progress and radio communications are the last of the Americanisms that come from it.
